A mom has been sentenced to life in jail after she kidnapped and trafficked her personal six-year-old daughter.

Kelly Smith, whose full title is Racquel Chantel Smith, her boyfriend Jacquen Appollis and their good friend Steveno Van Rhyn have been convicted of the crimes in South Africa after Joshlin Smith disappeared from Saldanha, in Western Cape, final 12 months.

The teenager has not been seen since and stays lacking following a nationwide police hunt.

Throughout the trial, one witness mentioned Smith had advised her she offered her daughter to a sangoma, a conventional healer, for 20,000 rand (£830).

She added the lady was needed for her “eyes and skin”.

The three defendants had beforehand pleaded not responsible.

The mom claimed she had left Joshlin with Appollis on the day she disappeared, earlier than Smith too was arrested.
