MSP investigating lethal moped crash close to Olivet

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Michigan State Police troopers are investigating after a 40-year-old moped driver from Olivet died after being struck by a pickup truck Tuesday morning.

MSP says troopers had been dispatched to the world of Marshall Highway and Brandy Lane in Walton Township, simply northeast of Olivet, for a report of a site visitors crash.

Police say their investigation signifies that the moped driver was working a 2008 JCL moped and touring northeast by Marshall Highway. He was then struck by a 2009 Dodge Ram pickup pushed by an 18-year-old man from Bellevue.

Eaton Space EMS transported the moped driver to the hospital, the place he was pronounced useless. The driving force of the pickup truck was unhurt.

MSP is continuous to analyze however the company says alcohol and medicines don’t seem like an element within the crash.
