MSU ladies's soccer tops Western to advance in NCAA Match

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – For the third 12 months in a row, the Michigan State ladies’s soccer workforce was internet hosting a sport within the NCAA Match.

The Spartans hosted Western Michigan within the event’s first spherical on Saturday and picked up a 3-1 win over the Broncos to advance to the second spherical.

The scoring began when MSU graduate midfielder Emily Mathews discovered the again of the online within the sixteenth minute.

“We had a lot of kids that played their last game at DeMartin today,” MSU coach Jeff Hosler stated. “Sometimes that can distract you from what really matters, in terms of how you perform and play on the day and I think collectively we did a great job of that.”

“We were super excited for this game,” Mathews stated. “We knew it wasn’t going to be our last game. I think we all had this mentality coming in. We were confident, we were believing in our team and we didn’t want this to be our last game.”

The Spartans will now tackle Texas in Durham, NC on Friday, November 22.
