EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Michigan State volleyball opened up its first season below head coach Kristen Kelsay this weekend with a pair of wins on the Breslin Middle.
Kelsay, a two-time group captain at MSU as a participant from 2010-13, has spent the final 9 years as an assistant coach at numerous stops within the Huge Ten.
She started her teaching profession at MSU as an assistant below Cathy George from 2015-18. She then coached at Northwestern from 2019-21 and Minnesota from 2023-24.
Kelsay joined the MSU Federal Credit score Union Coaches Present to mirror on her highway again to East Lansing and the imaginative and prescient she has for the way forward for MSU volleyball.
“There was a moment of excitement of ‘wow, this is so full circle!’” Kelsay stated of getting the job at MSU. “And with that, a peacefulness of this is right. This is the right time. I’m in the right time personally and professionally. I’m ready for this. I think Michigan State was at a time with the players and with the program where it was just a sense of peace.”
