EAST LANSING, Mich.(WLNS)— Because the Trump administration continues to slash pupil visas throughout the nation, college students at Michigan State College are additionally seeing the results. 

In response to Michigan State College college students, the U.S. Division of State has contacted them to tell them that their journey visas have been revoked.

Julie Powers, govt director at Immigrant Regulation and Justice Michigan, says there are cases the place a pupil’s visa may be revoked. 

“But it is lawful. The federal government can terminate student visas for cause,” said Powers. “If a pupil violates the principles of this system, and violates the tenants of a visa, or in the event that they broke a legislation, or in the event that they dropped out of college.”

“How do they finish their education? That they’ve paid for? And they have housing. Maybe they’re living in an apartment, and they have a lease,” said Powers. “Do they still have to pay that lease? Because the federal government all of a sudden, with no notice and no warnings?”

MSU stories that the Workplace for Worldwide College students and Students is carefully monitoring the scenario and is consulting with immigration attorneys and college students.

MSU has additionally not reported what number of pupil visas have been revoked.
