EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Michigan State’s Girls’s basketball group began yr two below Head Coach Robyn Fralick with a bang, taking down Wayne State 101-40 within the Spartan’s first and solely exhibition. The Monday night time matchup was a household reunion for graduate scholar guard Julia Ayrault who was capable of face her sister, Annabel who’s a sophomore guard for the Warriors, and her dad Andy who’s on the Wayne State teaching employees.
“I came in this morning and said to Abby Nakfoor who works for our team, I was like ‘This might be the best day of my life!” Ayrault stated. “It was just really just exciting and I really appreciate the coaching staff and everybody for making it happen. It’s really special and I know they put a lot of time and effort into doing that for our family which meant a lot to me.”
“A really cool night for Julia and her family,” MSU Head Coach Robyn Fralick stated. “Very rarely in basketball do you get a night where you get to play against your sister and your dad so I was very happy that this was able to come together.”
Julia and Annabel are 4 years aside and have by no means performed collectively or towards one another earlier than Monday night time.
“Obviously knowing Julia’s family really well and usually we[MSU] play an exhibition game against the Division Two team, so this seemed to make a lot of sense, especially in her senior year to be able to share this moment,” Fralick stated.
“I found out through Coach Dean Lockwood,” Ayrault “He kind of just said like ‘We’re working on it and we’re going to see if we can make it happen.’ Then finally when they were able to set it in stone he he was really excited about it.”
Michigan State’s girls’s basketball group will open the season towards Oakland on Tuesday, November fifth. Tip-off is ready for six:30 p.m.
