Needed suspect, officer harm in Kalamazoo taking pictures

Needed suspect, officer harm in Kalamazoo taking pictures

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A wished suspect and an officer had been harm in a Thursday morning taking pictures in Kalamazoo, police say.

Round 11 a.m., officers with the Kalamazoo Division of Public Security had been despatched to the world of Oakland Drive and Howard Avenue to try to arrest a wished suspect.

When confronted by police, the wished suspect confirmed that that they had a gun, police mentioned.

Township police mentioned the suspect and an officer from the Township of Kalamazoo Police Division had been harm and brought to the hospital. Their circumstances have not been launched.

KDPS informed Information 8 that Kalamazoo Township police are taking up the investigation.

The Information 8 crew on the scene noticed members of KDPS, Kalamazoo Township Police and Western Michigan College police arrange a fringe of Oakland Drive and Howard Avenue. Officers had been additionally seen within the car parking zone of the Kalamazoo Public Faculties Administration constructing.

Kalamazoo Public Faculties despatched a message to the neighborhood saying that no district workers or college students had been concerned within the taking pictures. Maple Avenue Magnet Faculty for the Arts was placed on lockdown for a short while whereas the administration constructing stays on lockdown whereas police examine.

It is unclear what the suspect was wished for.
