Wable, a social networking app for neurodivergent individuals, impressed by the ABC TV collection Love on the Spectrum, has raised $1.5 million to broaden within the US and UK.

The app is designed to attach neurodivergent individuals for friendship, relationship, jobs, and help, filling a spot left by different platforms that don’t adequately serve the wants of neurodivergent customers, who symbolize as much as 1-in-5 members of the inhabitants.

Founder Holly Fowler launched Wable in 2024, after watching Michael Theo’s relationship ambitions unfold on the 2019 collection Love on the Spectrum. He’s now a Wable ambassador, and is pursuing his appearing ambitions within the ABC comedy-drama collection Austin, additionally starring Ben Miller and Sally Phillips, and now in its second collection.

Since launching in 2024, 1000’s of customers in Australia and New Zealand have joined the app, which launched within the US and UK final month.

The app affords customisable color schemes for sensory preferences, an interactive Chat Wheel for dialog starters, and security measures together with 18+ age restriction, AI selfie verification, no direct picture/video messaging, no hyperlink sharing, and two-factor authentication.

The app’s Toolbox, options counsellor-led video assets on relationship and social abilities, and entry to neighborhood assets like a neuro-inclusive jobs board and a listing of secure, sensory-friendly venues.

Fowler stated the app is designed to make on-line relationship-building simpler and safer for neurodivergent individuals.

“The neurodivergent community experiences higher rates of loneliness and unemployment, and has been overlooked by traditional social and dating apps for far too long,” she stated.

“This funding means we are able to scale sooner, deliver Wable to extra individuals globally, and proceed constructing a platform that understands and celebrates the best way our neighborhood connects.”

Fowler has additionally signed on Aesha Scott from Under Deck, I’m a Celeb…Get Me Out of Right here!, and The Superb Race, as a celeb ambassador.

Taurus Capital’s Paul Sharbanee stated Wable is tackling a big hole available in the market.
