GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Tuesday marks the second day of the trial of a former Grand Rapids police officer accused of homicide after he shot and killed a driver following a visitors cease.
Christopher Schurr is accused of second-degree homicide within the loss of life of Patrick Lyoya. In the course of the first day of his trial Monday, the prosecution known as eight witnesses to the stand, together with a neighbor who witnessed Schurr and Lyoya wrestle over Schurr’s Taser; Lyoya’s passenger, who filmed it; two Michigan State Police detectives on the case; and a Grand Rapids Police Division crime scene technician who took photographs of Schurr after the wrestle.

Prosecutor Chris Becker says he has three extra witnesses to name, all of them consultants. Two must be out there Tuesday. One might not be out there till Wednesday.
