Oleksandr Usyk beats Tyson Fury to retain heavyweight titles

Oleksandr Usyk has overwhelmed Tyson Fury of their rematch in Saudi Arabia.

Ukrainian Usyk, 37, who had entered the bout as a slim favorite, retained his WBO, WBC and WBA heavyweight titles along with his win at Riyadh’s Kingdom Enviornment.

British fighter Fury, 36, had hoped to take revenge after his earlier defeat to Usyk in Might.

However, the combat went to the scorecards with all three judges scoring the combat 116-112 in Usyk’s favour.

“I win,” Usyk stated merely afterwards, “it’s good.”

Daniel Dubois, the IBF heavyweight title holder, was fast to name for a combat with Usyk following the outcome.

“I want my revenge,” he informed Usyk instantly. “Let’s go.”

Usyk turned the one man to inflict knowledgeable defeat on Fury when he beat him on factors, turning into the primary boxer to carry all 4 main heavyweight belts on the similar time and the primary undisputed champion in 24 years.

However his reign over the 4 belts was over only a month later when he gave up his IBF belt to combat Fury in a rematch as a result of he was unable to make a compulsory defence towards the organisation’s interim belt-holder, Dubois.

Dubois, 27, defended the IBF belt with a fifth-round knockout of fellow British rival 34-year-old Anthony Joshua in October.

He faces Joseph Parker on February 22 and the Usyk win might arrange a future combat to unify the entire titles.

Forward of the bout, Usyk and Fury engaged in a stare-down for greater than 11 minutes in a head-to-head press convention on Thursday.

Fury weighed in at a career-high 20stones 1lbs, whereas Usyk weighed 16stones 2lb, the heaviest he has recorded, though each males had been absolutely clothed once they stepped on the scales.
