Overnight fire displaces family in Lansing

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– A family in Lansing lost their home after a large fire broke out late Wednesday night.

Fire crews responded to a home on Todd Avenue near the corner of Smith Avenue, a few blocks away from S. Washington Avenue. The Lansing Fire Department reported they saw heavy smoke pouring out of the attic.

The fire department spent hours fighting the flames, and crews told 6 News the home suffered ‘extensive damage’. Our 6 News team spoke to someone at the scene and said it was her grandmother’s home.

The fire crew reported no injuries and will continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
