LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A thrift retailer employee in Northern Mich. was shocked to find “several items” that gave the impression to be pipe bombs in a whole lot of donated objects Wednesday.
“A worker picked up a donated box containing numerous tools and moved them around to see what else was in the box,” Michigan State Police seventh District stories on X, previously often called Twitter. “They found several items believed to be pipe bombs inside the box.”
Troopers from the Gaylord publish had been dispatched to the New Beginnings Thrift Store in Harbor Springs. A Okay-9 staff and the bomb squad additionally responded.

“The MSP Bomb Squad took an X-ray of the pipe bombs and found one of them to contain a fuse and powder. The MSP Bomb Squad was able to render it safe and dispose of the bomb,” the company reported.
The Okay-9 staff carried out an explosives search on the enterprise and the encircling space, however turned up no different explosives, MSP stories. An investigation into the pipe bombs is ongoing.
