Prosecutor goals to revoke Kelli Bryant's jail communication rights

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — On Friday, Oakland County Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald filed a movement to take away Kelli Bryant’s communication privileges for violating a no-contact court docket order along with her youngsters and their caregiver.

Oakland County Sheriff’s Workplace deputies arrested the 34-year-old Pontiac lady after she deserted her three youngsters for years, leaving them in horrendous dwelling circumstances. Bryant was charged with three counts of first-degree youngster abuse and three counts of welfare fraud. She’s being held on a $50,000 money bond on the Oakland County Jail.

The Workplace of the Prosecuting Lawyer said that jail data present Bryant known as the youngsters’s caregiver 10 instances between March 8 and March 12, 2025, to debate her legal case. They are saying Bryant had different inmates in jail name her youngsters’s caregiver on her behalf.

If McDonald’s movement to the fiftieth District Court docket is granted, Bryant will not have the ability to use a phone, pill, or video communication machine in jail.

“Kelli Bryant has clearly and repeatedly violated the judge’s order not to contact the victims or their caregiver,” stated Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald in a information launch despatched to six Information. “That order is in place for an important reason – to protect the victims.  The decision to ask that an inmate’s communications be restricted isn’t made lightly, but Bryant was repeatedly disobeying court orders and, by doing so, further endangering the victims.”
