Native and impartial observers famous severe irregularities within the election.

On Tuesday, the Pan African Attorneys Union submitted a case to the African Fee on Human and Peoples’ Rights prosecuting the Mozambican officers and establishments they are saying are accountable for rigging the election.

“It looks more like a military event with so much military police, helicopters, tanks, dogs and all kinds of weaponry. God, it is such a strange environment to be sworn in. It should be a celebratory event – but it just seems like a military dictatorship.”

Mozambique now has a brand new president inaugurated underneath the statue of founding father Samora Machel.

However the capital feels torn in two – the facility and privilege constructed over 5 a long time of single-party rule and the lots of Mozambicans now railing in opposition to it.
