RE/MAX Canada president steps down amid management turnover

Christopher Alexander introduced he was stepping down from his position after simply over three years as RE/MAX faces ongoing struggles with income and agent depend.

RE/MAX introduced extra modifications to its management group this week as Christopher Alexander stepped down as president of RE/MAX Canada, the corporate introduced in an announcement.

Alexander will stay with the franchisor as a brokerage proprietor and can start consulting with RE/MAX Europe. RE/MAX Holdings CEO Erik Carlson will take over the position as soon as Alexander transitions out of it in March.

Alexander had served within the position since 2021, and RE/MAX famous that the repositioning was voluntary.

“We want to thank Christopher for his many significant contributions to RE/MAX Canada and look forward to building on the strong foundation in place,” Carlson mentioned in an announcement. “The regional team remains focused on delivering world-class support to the outstanding network of local RE/MAX brokerages and agents.”

The change comes as RE/MAX battles ongoing declines in income and a lack of brokers in North America, in addition to different management modifications.

Amy Lessinger stepped down as president of RE/MAX in January, lower than a 12 months after she took the reins from Nick Bailey. Bailey left the position in February 2024.

Greater than 3,600 brokers, or 6.5 %, departed between Q3 2023 and Q3 2024. The model’s agent depend grew barely globally throughout that point by 174 brokers.
