LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Division of Legal professional Basic introduced its latest rent Thursday—its first sufferer advocate canine, Baylee, who will work alongside the division’s Sufferer Rights Division.
“We are thrilled to welcome Baylee to the Department,” said Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. “With every wag of her tail and smile, she’ll help bring comfort and courage to crime victims.”

Baylee is educated to consolation and help crime victims throughout court docket proceedings and conferences with prosecutors and sufferer advocates. The division says therapeutic companions may also help calm and floor crime victims and abuse survivors as they take care of the possibly retraumatizing authorized course of.
“I know her presence will truly make an impact for those who need it most, and we couldn’t be more honored to have her by our side,” says Nessel.
