Robert Jenrick has backed Kemi Badenoch as Tory chief regardless of contemporary polling suggesting get together members are not looking for her to hold on into the following election.

On the defections of the Tory councillors, Ms Badenoch informed LBC: “What we are doing is shedding a lot of the baggage of the last 14 years.
“We’d like people who find themselves in our get together for the fitting causes.”
