San Pedro forfeiting recreation towards Narbonne in protest of alleged rule violations

San Pedro forfeiting recreation towards Narbonne in protest of alleged rule violations

San Pedro knowledgeable the Metropolis Part that it’ll not play a scheduled Marine League recreation Friday towards Narbonne, becoming a member of Banning in giving the Gauchos a second consecutive forfeit victory.

4 Marine League coaches — Raymond Grajeda of Banning, Corey Walsh of San Pedro, Monty Gilbreath of Gardena and Mike Christensen of Carson — beforehand signed a letter addressed to Metropolis Part commissioner Vicky Lagos saying they might not play Narbonne till allegations of rule violations by the Harbor Metropolis faculty have been addressed.

Lagos stated Wednesday she was knowledgeable by a San Pedro administrator that the Pirates wouldn’t be internet hosting Narbonne on Friday.

Narbonne will enhance to 6-2 and is ranked No. 1 within the Metropolis Part by CalPreps.com rankings.

In a letter despatched out Wednesday, Narbonne coach Malcolm Manuel denied his program has violated any guidelines.

“I want to clarify that we are not involved in any activities that would jeopardize our eligibility, integrity, opportunities for our players, or our values we uphold,” he wrote.

If faculties proceed to forfeit towards Narbonne through the Metropolis Part Open Division playoffs, then they might face sanctions. Beneath Metropolis Part guidelines, as soon as the brackets are launched and a staff forfeits, it will be ineligible for the playoffs subsequent season.
