Second spouse of OceanGate CEO hears Titan sub imploding

The spouse of OceanGate’s chief govt requested “what was that bang?” as she unknowingly heard the second the Titan submersible imploded.

New footage launched by the US Coast Guard (USCG) exhibits Wendy Rush, spouse of Stockton Rush, making an attempt to contact these on board the doomed vessel throughout its descent to see the wreck of the Titanic.

All 5 on board had been killed within the incident in June 2023, together with Titan operator and OceanGate founder Mr Rush, British adventurer Hamish Harding, French deep sea explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet, and Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleman.

Within the USCG footage, OceanGate director Mrs Rush and colleague Gary Foss are seen monitoring the Titan’s journey within the North Atlantic Ocean from assist vessel Polar Prince.

After the implosion is heard, Mrs Rush asks: “What was that bang?”

The USCG imagine the noise – which gave the impression of a door slamming – was the sound of the Titan’s implosion reaching the floor of the ocean.

Moments later, Mrs Rush receives a message from the sub saying it had dropped two weights.

The workforce assume the Titan is continuous its descent, however investigators would later imagine the delayed message was despatched previous to the sub failing.

Titan ‘malfunctioned’ days earlier than deadly dive
