LANSING, (Mich.) WLNS — Leaders on the College of Michigan Well being-Sparrow hope the Previous Japanese Excessive Faculty demolition web site will quickly be serving to these combating psychological well being points.

In the present day, leaders with Sparrow introduced a partnership with Sheppard Pratt, a behavioral well being supplier, who they are saying will assist them degree up their present behavioral well being care, particularly for younger individuals.

Margaret Dimond, the regional president for College of Michigan Well being Sparrow, says there is not sufficient care accessible now for younger individuals.

Sparrow tells us the supplier shall be serving to them with all their behavioral well being providers, however they’re particularly excited for one potential mission.

They’re ready on the U-M Board of Regents to approve a model new facility on the grounds the place the Previous Japanese Excessive Faculty was demolished. That approval might occur within the subsequent few months.

“The plan would be to take our current adult services from the St. Lawrence campus, and move psych out of the St. Lawrence campus to this new building,” mentioned Dimond.
