State Rep. desires cursive writing again in Michigan lecture rooms

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– A proposed invoice to convey again cursive writing and studying in Michigan lecture rooms has been launched to the Michigan Legislature.

Home Invoice 4675 would require the Michigan Division of Schooling to create packages and curriculums for cursive handwriting and studying. The invoice was launched by State Consultant Brenda Carter (D-Pontiac).

“Many kids right now should not being taught find out how to learn or write in cursive — a foundational ability that not solely allows them to signal their very own title, but additionally provides them entry to vital historic paperwork, together with lots of our nation’s founding texts,” mentioned Carter in a information launch despatched to six Information.
