A superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily killing 4 British nationals – together with tech tycoon Mike Lynch – might be raised from the seabed and dropped at shore subsequent month, an inquest listening to has heard.

Mr Graves mentioned he hoped the MAIB might publish its interim report on-line in 4 to 6 weeks, with the ultimate report back to comply with in “months, not weeks” after the vessel has been inspected for proof.

“We are relatively early in our investigation,” Mr Graves mentioned.

He added {that a} “significant amount of work” had already occurred, together with commissioning research trying on the “stability and windage of the vessel” and the climate on the scene.

Suffolk’s senior coroner Nigel Parsley requested if the “vessel itself was a primary source of evidence” and Mark Cam, of the Maritime and Coastguard Company (MCA), mentioned “absolutely, sir”.

Inquest proceedings within the UK are trying on the deaths of Mr Lynch and his daughter, in addition to Morgan Stanley Worldwide financial institution chairman Jonathan Bloomer, 70, and his 71-year-old spouse Judy Bloomer, who had been all British nationals.
