The federal government described the funds by the Contaminated Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA) as a “historical milestone”.

However some contaminated blood campaigners have reacted with fury on the announcement, accusing the federal government of “spin” and saying hundreds of contaminated blood victims “have yet to receive a penny”.
