Lastly, I put a few drops of Moroccanoil Original Treatment ($48) on my palms and combed it through the hair with my fingers.”

This look references French icon, singer and actor Brigitte Bardot, who dominated the 50s-70s as a global cool lady and intercourse image. The Bardot blowout type pays homage to her intentional however easy hairstyles, identified for her undone and tousled look.

“The right combination or cocktail of products will determine how full, how durable and how smooth your finished result is,” explains movie star hairstylist and KERASILK ambassador, Steven Picciano. “My go-to combo for volume starts with the KERASILK Volumizing Spray ($35), applied to damp hair focusing on the roots and misting over the ends. This product provides soft, touchable volume with amazing hold. Once the product is applied generously, it’s time for the KERASILK Smoothing Blow Dry Creme ($14). This will add smoothness to the ends and a light hold, helping your locks stay the way you intend for days.”

The right way to type the Bardot Blowout

“In order to achieve this look, you need a layered haircut and a fringe section styled to drape around the face,” explains Clark. “It is important to ask for texture inside the haircut to help achieve the volume, wispiness and movement.”

And in terms of styling, Clark advises reaching for a boar bristle brush to maximise the amount. “It is also helpful to set your sections when blow drying while they are still warm with a velcro roller or simply wrapping around your fingers and setting with flat clips until the hair is cool,” she provides. “You’ll want to twist the sections out when dropping down for added texture. This will give a lasting hold and hair that still looks good on day two or three after it’s been in the bedroom.”

“After your blowout, for a tousled bedroom vibe, it’s time to mess it up just a bit,” Picciano instructs. “Flip your head over and blow cool air through the roots throughout. Once you’ve done that, add a bit of texturizing spray and scrunch into your hair. Flip and shake and you will have the best bedroom hair.”
