The Shyft Group, previously Spartan Motors, acquired by Swiss agency Aebi Schmidt Group

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Car design firm The Shyft Group, previously referred to as Spartan Motors, was offered to a brand new proprietor. The corporate designs and engineers specialty chassis, autos, truck our bodies and aftermarket components.

The Shyft Group was offered to Aebi Schmidt Group, a Swiss firm that manufactures agricultural equipment and heavy tools.

“We’re excited by the distinctive prospects for the longer term mixed Firm by delivering progress by driving business excellence,” Barend Fruithof, CEO of Aebi Schmidt, said in a news release via the company’s website. “The workforce is properly on observe to ship the focused synergies of $25 to $30 million and powerful working outcomes regardless of the dynamic working setting, together with the influence of tariffs. The management workforce is laser targeted on executing to ship on its commitments.”

When it was referred to as Spartan Motors, The Shyft Group contracted with USPS and plenty of others. A brand new facility was unveiled in 2017 and the corporate mentioned it was hiring a whole bunch of recent employees on the Charlotte, Michigan facility. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer mentioned the corporate would rent 680 extra individuals to fabricate electrical autos in 2023.
