Tom Izzo turns into Large Ten's all-time wins chief with MSU's victory at Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, ILL. (WLNS) — Michigan State head basketball coach Tom Izzo has handed legendary coach Bob Knight because the winningest coach in Large Ten convention historical past.

Izzo notched his 354th Large Ten win as No. 11 Michigan State defeated Illinois 79-65 on Saturday evening. Junior Jaxon Kohler scored a career-high 23 factors.

Izzo earned his first Large Ten convention win on January 4, 1996 towards coach Knight whereas he was at Indiana. In 2016, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Corridor of Fame.

Over his three-decade lengthy profession, Izzo has received six Large Ten event titles, made eight Remaining Fours, and led his workforce to the 2000 Nationwide Championship.
