Tories promise to scrap stamp responsibility in the event that they win subsequent election

The Conservatives will abolish stamp responsibility in the event that they win the following election, Kemi Badenoch has introduced.

Chatting with the Conservative Get together convention in Manchester, the Tory chief described stamp responsibility – the tax paid when a brand new house is bought – as a “bad tax” and an “unconservative tax”.

She stated that she had checked out reducing the thresholds at which stamp responsibility is paid however determined it will not be “enough”.

“The last Conservative government cut stamp duty for thousands of home buyers,” she instructed the convention.
