Two-vehicle crash kills Lansing man in Eaton County

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Michigan State Police (MSP) report {that a} two-vehicle crash in Eaton County killed a 42-year-old man from Lansing on Tuesday.

MSP troopers from the Lansing Submit responded to M-43 Hwy. at Benton Rd. in Oneida Township, Eaton County, for a two-car damage crash at roughly 9:10 a.m.

Following a preliminary investigation, police say {that a} 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup, pushed by an 18-year-old man from Grand Ledge, was driving northbound on Benton Rd. when it disregarded a cease signal on the M-43 Hwy. intersection.

The Silverado hit a 2011 Ford Focus that was touring eastbound, pushed by a 42-year-old man from Lansing.

Police say that the 42-year-old man suffered extreme accidents from the crash and was transported to the UM Well being-Sparrow in Lansing.

He was later pronounced useless on the hospital.

The 18-year-old driver was additionally taken to UM Well being-Sparrow for severe accidents. Police say his standing is at present unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.

As of two p.m. Tuesday, M-43 Hwy. at Benton Rd. continues to be closed because the investigation continues.
