US officers heading to Saudi Arabia for Russia-Ukraine peace talks

Two senior US officers are travelling to Saudi Arabia to provoke peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

On Wednesday, President Trump mentioned there had been an settlement to start negotiations about ending the warfare in Ukraine, after holding telephone calls with Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

A Kremlin spokesperson mentioned Mr Putin and Mr Trump had agreed to satisfy and the Russian president invited Mr Trump to go to Moscow.

‘We want a European military’

Ukraine’s president wrote on X that he had a “meaningful conversation” by telephone with Mr Trump to debate “opportunities to achieve peace”.

He then reacted to the US president’s name with Mr Putin by saying the principle challenge was to “not allow everything to go according to Putin’s plan” – after the US president additionally mentioned it was unlikely Ukraine would get all of its occupied land again.

Mr Trump had informed White Home reporters he did not see any means “that a country in Russia’s position” may permit Ukraine to affix NATO.

At a safety convention on Saturday, Mr Zelenskyy informed world leaders he believes it’s time for the creation of an “armed forces of Europe”, including his military was “not enough”.

Europe can’t rule out the likelihood that “America might say no to Europe on issues that threaten it”.
