LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed the brand new state funds with no vetoes on Tuesday. The $81 billion funds was handed by the Michigan legislature early Friday morning after months of negotiations and a narrowly-avoided state authorities shutdown.

“This balanced budget delivers on the kitchen table issues that make a real difference in people’s lives,” Whitmer stated in an announcement. The signing occasion was not open to the press, and Whitmer didn’t take questions afterward.
