Jamie Dalton began Aquarium Data throughout the COVID pandemic as a result of she was searching for a pastime. Her first video, creating a ten gallon aquarium for freshwater cherry shrimp, was designed to spotlight the aquascaping course of and to be soothing.
“Our first video did really, really well and I think during the pandemic a lot of people had an appetite for restorative therapeutic content,” she says. “So there wasn’t a script, there wasn’t any storytelling or talking.”

So, there’s a lot to discover when you are fish-keeping or have a turtle, for example. So, trying to kind of educate but also entertain through our videos.”
Her imaginative and prescient has expanded since that first video as properly.
“So there has been an evolution from kind of just the initial aquascaping setup process to now building kind of some crazy, wacky ideas like a washing machine fish tank or piano fish tank or getting a bit more creative with the homes in which we create for our animals,” she says.
It didn’t cease with simply fish tanks both. After the success of turning the mattress on her mattress into an aquarium for a video, she took it the following step – turning her spare bed room into totally different ecosystems.
