1000’s rally at Michigan Capitol to advertise sustainable highway funding plan

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — 1000’s of Michigan staff on the State Capitol on Wednesday afternoon as a part of the Save Our Jobs, Fund Our Roads rally, calling on lawmakers to move a “long-term, equitable, and sustainable road funding plan.”

“Michigan cannot afford any more delays in enacting a long-term road funding plan,” stated Rob Coppersmith, govt vp of the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Affiliation (MITA), in a information launch despatched to six Information.

“If lawmakers fail to act now, thousands of construction workers will lose their livelihoods and Michigan families will pay the price every time they drive on our crumbling and deteriorating roads. The time for debate has passed, and Michiganders are demanding a solution now.”

The Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Affiliation, the Working Engineers 324, the Michigan Laborers District Council, and the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights joined contractors, highway development staff, and labor union members from throughout the state on the rally.

Heavy development gear was on show in the course of the rally, with utility vehicles circling the streets surrounding the Capitol.
