1000’s traverse Mackinac Bridge for annual stroll

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — 1000’s of individuals traversed the Straits of Mackinac Monday morning as a part of the annual Mackinac Bridge Stroll.

“It was a picture-perfect day, with bright blue skies and a mild breeze,” mentioned Mackinac Bridge Authority (MBA) Bridge Director Kim Nowack in a information launch despatched to six Information.

“About 33,000 people enjoyed this beautiful day and walked the bridge, with roughly 3,000 more participants taking the trek than in 2024.”

The MBA experiences that the bridge was closed to all car visitors at 6:30 a.m. and reopened at midday.

Members started strolling from each St. Ignace and Mackinaw Metropolis.

The stroll has been held yearly since 1958, besides in 2020 when it was canceled as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.

The MBA experiences that crowds have ranged from 21,000 to 35,000 in recent times.
