LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The state and U.S. flags are lowered to half-staff on the State Capitol Advanced as we speak to honor former U.S. Consultant Bob Carr, who handed away in August.

“Representative Bob Carr was a dedicated public servant who delivered for his constituents and moved Michigan forward,” mentioned Governor Whitmer in a information launch.

“Bob worked hard to make a real difference in people’s lives and fought passionately for what he believed in. He was a powerful advocate for civil rights and, later, cancer research. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and all those who served and worked alongside him.”

Carr was elected to the U.S. Home of Representatives in 1974. Through the Vietnam Warfare, Whitmer says Carr was a powerful advocate for peace in U.S. international coverage.

Carr was identified with stage 3 a number of myeloma in 2006. After life in Congress, Carr labored to teach future policymakers and advocates.
