Comic Duncan Norvelle hailed as a ‘legend’ after demise aged 66

Duncan Norvelle, a comic famed for his “Chase me” catchphrase, has died aged 66.

The entertainer handed away in hospital surrounded by his family members on Thursday, after affected by a chest an infection and sepsis.

His demise was introduced on his Fb web page, with a be aware signed off by Norvelle’s accomplice, Lynn Trevallion, and his three youngsters, Yasmin, Jack and Sophie.

Paying tribute to her accomplice, Ms Trevallion stated he was “probably [the] last of the legends of true variety comedy”.

She added: “I simply wished one other day with him, however I did not need him again to endure, he wasn’t struggling, however I did not need him simply to linger.

“I loved him so much, I never realised how much I loved him really, you don’t, do you, until you lose someone?”

Norvelle, from Walton on the Wolds, Leicestershire, was admitted to hospital two weeks in the past.

He suffered a stroke in 2012, which paralysed his left facet and left him unable to maneuver his arm. He may stroll when utilizing a stick.

“He got back on stage after his stroke and just proved to everyone that he could still get a standing ovation every single time he did a show,” Ms Trevallion stated.

“And he did loads and loads of shows after his stroke because they said [he] quite possibly would never walk or talk properly, and he could talk perfectly.”

Reflecting on her accomplice’s comedy type, she added: “His type of comedy doesn’t happen anymore, he’s probably the last of the legends of true variety comedy, so many have passed now.”

Throughout his profession, Norvelle carried out stand-up units at prestigious venues together with the London Palladium, and appeared on TV programmes resembling Wogan and The Bob Monkhouse Present.

He additionally hosted a pilot episode for a courting present that may later grow to be Blind Date, hosted by Cilla Black.
