Potter Park Zoo employees battle freezing temperatures to maintain animals protected

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Zookeepers and employees at Potter Park Zoo have been making ready for days to maintain the animals snug and protected throughout this intense winter climate. 

The zoo’s animal care supervisor, Pat Fountain, says preparations for this dramatic temperature dip began a couple of week in the past with staff monitoring climate, including loads of straw to the bottom in enclosures, and checking needed electrical gear resembling heated bowls.

The animals additionally bought greater, hotter beds and zookeepers have been reminded to remain protected themselves whereas out within the chilly. There will not be many individuals going to the zoo nevertheless it’s removed from a day without work.
