A number of folks hospitalized after Lansing fireplace

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A number of folks have been taken to the hospital after a hearth broke out in a Lansing house Saturday night.

The hearth started at an unknown time on the 1000 of Britten Ave. in Lansing close to Moore’s Park.

The Lansing Fireplace Division (Division) responded to the hearth that started on the underside flooring. The blaze shattered home windows and left behind thick black smoke.

The Division says firefighters rescued a number of folks from the house. They have been transported to an space hospital. The circumstances of the victims are at the moment unknown.

No first responders have been injured in the course of the rescue.

The reason for the hearth stays beneath investigation.
