Briton was attempting to save lots of pal when each died in Portugal, sister says

The sister of a person who drowned in Portugal has mentioned he died whereas attempting to save lots of his finest pal within the water.

King Edonmi, 29, and Mo Liasu, 27, each from Ipswich, died lower than 24 hours after arriving on vacation in Albufeira, on the south coast of Portugal.

They’re believed to have drowned in a lodge swimming pool on 15 July.

In a press release on-line, King’s sister Kemi Edonmi mentioned: “My best friend is really gone.

“Relaxation in peace to my massive brother and his finest pal Mo, we love you and can always remember you each.”

She also wrote that King “died attempting to save lots of his pal’s life”.

She added that reports suggesting the two had been drinking were false, saying: “My brother and Mo don’t drink and weren’t intoxicated on the time of the incident.”

A GoFundMe fundraiser for the repatriation of their our bodies and to help their households has raised greater than £24,500 as of 9pm on Friday – properly above its £20,000 goal.

Organiser Angelo Antonio wrote that the 2 “were more than friends to us” and “were brothers to many,” earlier than including: “They were warm, loyal, funny and full of dreams.

A spokesperson for Portugal’s prison investigation police mentioned the incident is just not being handled as suspicious.

“The inspection of the scene revealed no evidence of criminal activity,” they added. “Witnesses to the events were interviewed, confirming the investigation’s belief that it was an accident.”

A Overseas, Commonwealth and Improvement Workplace spokesperson additionally mentioned: “We are supporting the families of two British men who have died in Portugal and are in contact with the local authorities.”
