LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Officers within the metropolis of Lansing are investigating how a neighborhood musician obtained entry to a downtown Lansing hearth station over Labor Day weekend. 

On Aug. 31, Lansing artist P.B. Yanna posted a video of herself acting on the roof of the hearth station positioned on the nook of Shiawassee St. and Grand Ave. in downtown Lansing. Yanna posted the video to each her Instagram and Fb accounts. 6 Information doesn’t have the authorized proper to point out the video on this story right now.

Metropolis spokesman Scott Bean says the town turned conscious of the video final week and has launched an investigation into whether or not any metropolis insurance policies had been violated. 

“The Mayor is aware of this video and was extremely surprised and disappointed that a city-owned facility and resources were allowed to be used to film this video,” Bean wrote in an e mail to six Information on Monday. “An internal investigation is underway to ascertain any possible policy violations.”

An nameless letter was submitted to the Lansing Metropolis Council on Monday, elevating issues about Yanna’s entry to the ability. That letter alleges her time on the roof of the hearth station in downtown Lansing could have violated office security guidelines and rules with the Michigan Occupational Security and Well being Administration (MiOSHA). The letter author requested an investigation by the office security company.

Bean says Mayor Andy Schor can be working to create an govt order to forestall such use of metropolis amenities sooner or later. 

“The Mayor is currently drafting an Executive Directive to further clarify that future activities for commercial promotion and private profit are prohibited in City facilities,” Bean wrote. “That order should be finalized in the coming days.”
