LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — An Au Sable River paddle boat referred to as the River Queen has sunk whereas docked exterior Oscoba.

Laurie Ferguson, half proprietor of the River Queen, says in a Fb publish that the boat began sinking Monday afternoon and now rests on the underside of the river.

Ferguson says within the publish that the Queen has been an essential vacationer attraction within the Oscoba and Au Sable space since 1966. “COVID affected us because we lost all our bus groups. It’s been an uphill struggle, especially because it is only a season business,” mentioned Ferguson within the Fb publish.

Dawn Coast, a Michigan journey web site, says the Queen is the one paddlewheel riverboat working in northern Michigan.

Furguson warns that the boat might roll over on its aspect as a result of there’s a sharp improve in river depth close by.
