Canada has banned rap group Kneecap from coming into the nation for allegedly ‘glorifying terrorist organisations’.
The trio, who have been on account of play 4 concert events in Canada subsequent month, have been accused of selling hate and violence by the nation’s Liberal authorities.
Kneecap have subsequently threatened Canada’s parliamentary secretary for combatting crime, Vince Gasparro, with authorized motion.
Mr Gasparro mentioned in a video on X that members of the group had been deemed ineligible to enter the nation due to actions and statements that violate Canadian legislation.

Mr Gasparro mentioned: “Advocating for political violence, glorifying terrorist organisations and displaying hate symbols that directly target the Jewish community are not protected forms of expression and will not be tolerated by our government.”
Commenting on the X publish, Kneecap mentioned: “Your feedback about us are wholly unfaithful and deeply malicious. We is not going to settle for it.
“No member of Kneecap has been convicted of ANY crime in ANY country EVER.”
The band added: “We’ve at present instructed our attorneys to provoke motion towards you. We can be relentless in defending ourselves towards baseless accusations to silence our opposition to genocide being dedicated by Israel.
“When we beat you in court, which we will, we will donate every cent to assist some of the thousands of child amputees in Gaza.”
Canada’s immigration ministry didn’t instantly reply to a request for extra particulars.
That is the most recent in a sequence of controversial incidents involving the Belfast-based band.
Throughout the Glastonbury Competition in June, Kneecap’s frontman Liam Og O Hannaidh, identified by his stage title Mo Chara, accused Israel of committing battle crimes. Israel has denied the accusation.
