Detroit gents's membership shut down after minors discovered inside, police say

(CBS Detroit) — Detroit police say a gents’s membership on town’s west aspect was shut down after teenagers had been allegedly discovered there over the weekend.

Police say an investigation is underway at The Sting nightclub, the place roughly 20 folks beneath 21 had been on the membership for a birthday celebration on Saturday. Police say a lady tracked her baby down on the location and contacted authorities.

Police Chief Todd Bettison says the youngest individual there was believed to be 14 years outdated.

“It was dancing going on here, and it was adult beverages being served as well,” Bettison mentioned. “I know you want to grow up fast, but this is dangerous. You know, a lot of kids can get lured into a life of human trafficking. It’s a lot of things that happen in these adult clubs where children should not be exposed to.”

On Wednesday, authorities positioned a pink signal on the door signaling that the membership was closed. Whereas executing a search warrant on the enterprise, police seized DVRs.

Police say no arrests have been made, however they’re trying into the organizer of the birthday celebration.

One father who lives close by says the scenario is baffling.

“What type of person that runs this business have kids. Makes me wonder about you,” mentioned Darrel Wallace. “I don’t even deal with these type of clubs, so it’s really degrading, especially to our community. We don’t need stuff like that.”
