Eurostar resumes direct Amsterdam-London providers after eight-month pause

Eurostar has resumed direct providers from Amsterdam to London after an eight-month hold-up whereas a brand new terminal was constructed within the Netherlands capital.

Providers from Amsterdam’s Centraal station to London St Pancras started once more on Monday, after being paused for development work in June.

Since then, passengers travelling from the Dutch capital to London had been compelled to take a prepare to Brussels the place they might go by means of border checks earlier than altering on to a Eurostar service.

The brand new Amsterdam station means extra space for UK-bound passengers, enabling Eurostar to reintroduce direct departures and enhance providers.

It’s now operating three each day return journeys between the cities on weekdays and Sundays and two on Saturdays – every taking three hours and 52 minutes – with plans to develop it to 5 by 2026.

“We all know we are going to welcome extra passengers on board as we proceed to develop our providers and set the requirements for connectivity throughout Europe.

“The tripling of capacity on the Netherlands-UK route is step one in a broader strategy to increase Eurostar’s network for customers all across Europe.”

Migration minister Seema Malhotra mentioned she was happy to see direct providers again on monitor and pledged that the UK Border Power officers primarily based in Netherlands “will ensure that our border security remains robust.”
