EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -Taking part in for Michigan State has at all times been a dream for broad receiver and East Lansing native Evan Boyd. His dad and mom went to MSU and his older brother Ethan performed for 3 seasons at offensive sort out with the Spartans.

Final season, Boyd led Central Michigan in receiving yards earlier than a season-ending collarbone harm and is taking part in with a chip on his shoulder this fall.

“It’s really just proving it to myself, you know,” Boyd mentioned. “I know I could play at this level. I’m still a pretty raw receiver. Obviously, I’ve got God-gifted ability, but at this level, it’s a lot about detailed stuff. Coach Hawk says to know your indicators, be crisp in your breaks, and keep your hands in tight. I’m just trying to be a sponge when it comes to all that stuff.”

“Evan has had a really good spring,” MSU broad receivers coach Courtney Hawkins mentioned. “He’s come out, he’s made some plays, plays faster than maybe we saw on tape. One thing about Evan, he is a football junkie. I really like that about him. I mean straight-up gym rat. Evan is always calling me in the evenings, he’s on cones when everybody else is maybe at home playing their video game. He wants to be great, he’s putting in the work and he’s made some nice plays this spring. I can’t wait to see what happens in the fall.”

Boyd is certainly one of three former East Lansing Trojans on this roster with working again Jace Clarizio and Tight Finish Charlie Baker. Operating backs coach Keith Bhonapha has been very impressed with Clarizio’s pace, footwork, explosiveness, and skill to puncture the road of scrimmage.
