LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — With temperatures anticipated to achieve into the excessive 80s and low 90s over the following few days, the Metropolis of Lansing is implementing its Code Purple Excessive Climate Plan.

Lansing has a number of free cooling facilities open for folks looking for aid throughout the hottest elements of the day. 

In Lansing, there might be 4 cooling facilities that might be welcoming folks inside:

Letts Group Center1220 W. Kalamazoo St. Wednesday & Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 8:45 p.m.

Foster Group Center200 N. Foster Ave. Wednesday & Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 8:45 p.m.

Gier Group Center2400 Corridor St. Wednesday & Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 8:45 p.m.

Alfreda Schmidt Southside Group Heart 5825 Sensible Rd.Wednesday & Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 8:45 p.m.

Different choices for these looking for shelter from the warmth embody the Capital Space District Library branches and the CATA Transportation Heart downtown.
