'Making an attempt to push us out:' Kristana Cellular Village residents say sewer raise pump was shut off

LANSING, Mich. “We can’t live like that, you know?” he says. “We’ve gotta pour water down the toilets just to be able to use them. We have to buy water just to drink, you know? Have to go to people’s houses, friends’ and family’s houses to take a shower.”

The resident says he was given a letter to depart his house by Could 15.

Nonetheless, Khadja Erickson with the Mid-Michigan Tenant Useful resource Heart, who has been aiding the residents, says what the proprietor is doing is questionable.

 “The sewer lift has been shut off to the park. So, not only do the residents here not have access to running water, they no longer have access to running sewer,” says Erickson. “You cannot create unhabitable conditions in order to force someone out.”
