Raducanu, 22, was visibly upset throughout a match on the Dubai Tennis Championships on Tuesday after the person was seated within the first few rows of the group.

Raducanu went on to lose the second spherical conflict 7-6 (8-6) 6-4 to 14th seed Karolina Muchova.

Police stated in an announcement shared on social media on Thursday that the person was detained and Raducanu determined to not press fees.

Dubai Police stated they’ve taken “swift action” in relation to the incident and haven’t named the person.

“Whereas Raducanu later selected to drop the fees, the person signed a proper endeavor to take care of distance from her and has been banned from future tournaments.

“Dubai remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors to the emirate.”

Raducanu stated in an Instagram story after the match that it was a “difficult experience”.

She wrote: “Thank you for the messages of support. Difficult experience yesterday but I’ll be okay and proud of how I came back and competed despite what happened at the start of the match.

“Thanks to Karolina [Muchova] for being an amazing sport and better of luck to her for the remainder of the event.”

Along with her message she posted an image of the Jane Austen novel Emma and a cup of coffee.

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) previously said in a statement that the man in question, who it said had displayed “fixated behaviour”, will be “banned from all WTA occasions pending a menace evaluation”.

“Participant security is our prime precedence, and tournaments are suggested on safety greatest practices for worldwide sporting occasions,” the organisation stated.

In 2022, a 35-year-old man was handed a five-year restraining order – after a courtroom heard Raducanu was “constantly looking over her shoulder” and not felt “safe in her own home”.

Amrit Magar had walked 23 miles to Raducanu’s dwelling and had stolen her father’s shoe as a memento.

Bromley Magistrates’ Courtroom heard how Magar went to the participant’s dwelling on three separate events, loitered exterior, left undesirable presents and playing cards, and stole property from their porch.

The courtroom additionally heard from Raducanu by way of a sufferer influence assertion learn by prosecutors – which stated that her mother and father had been “reluctant” to let her exit on her personal.
