The Movement Image Affiliation (MPA) within the US has despatched Meta a cease-and-desist letter over its use of “PG-13” when referring to content material moderation on Instagram.

Now, it has been instructed to “immediately and permanently” cease utilizing the score, with the MPA accusing Meta of being “highly misleading”.
The MPA’s movie scores, which vary from G (normal) to NC-17, are selected by dad and mom who watch the movies after which consider them to provide you with a score.
“Meta’s attempts to restrict teen content literally cannot be ‘guided by’ or ‘aligned with’ the MPA’s PG-13 movie rating because Meta does not follow this curated process,” the affiliation’s letter mentioned.
“Instead, Meta’s content restrictions appear to rely heavily on artificial intelligence or other automated technology measures.”
