LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Former Michigan Chief Justice Michael F. Cavanagh has handed away, and his daughter, Chief Justice Megan Okay. Cavanagh, shared her ideas in a press release issued by Michigan Courts.

My Dad and I have been very shut, and I really feel so lucky to have realized a lot from a pacesetter who devoted his life to public service. Although, Mike Cavanagh was way more than a devoted public servant, way more than an incredible decide and justice, and way more than an amazing father, husband, and grandpa. He embodied what it means to be a compassionate, considerate, and loving human being.

I wish to make a distinction as a result of my Dad made a distinction. And so many different associates who served with my Dad really feel the identical approach. Mike Cavanagh impressed generations of colleagues by his kindness, humor, and quiet dignity in service to the individuals. He cared deeply about each one that appeared in his courtroom and for everybody who trusted a justice system that was impartial, accessible, and truthful.
