Neil Gaiman accused of sexual assault in civil lawsuits filed in US

British creator Neil Gaiman has been accused of sexual assault in lawsuits filed by a girl within the US.

The authorized paperwork had been filed in Wisconsin, Massachusetts and New York on Monday.

In January, Gaiman strenuously denied allegations of sexual assault made towards him by eight girls featured in a New York Journal article. In a weblog submit, he mentioned he was “far from a perfect person” however had “never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone. Ever”.

Writing in response to the allegations in January, Gaiman mentioned he had watched tales about him circulating on-line for months with “horror and dismay”.

“As I read through this latest collection of accounts, there are moments I half-recognise and moments I don’t, descriptions of things that happened sitting beside things that emphatically did not happen,” he wrote.

“I’m far from a perfect person, but I have never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone. Ever.”

Gaiman mentioned he had reviewed messages exchanged along with his accusers, they usually learn like “two people enjoying entirely consensual sexual relationships and wanting to see one another again”.

He mentioned he now realised he “could have and should have done so much better”, that he was “emotionally unavailable while being sexually available, self-focused and not as thoughtful as I could or should have been”, and “obviously careless with people’s hearts and feelings”.

Nonetheless, “some of the horrible stories now being told simply never happened, while others have been so distorted from what actually took place that they bear no relationship to reality”, he mentioned.
